Spend time watering the plants in your garden or yard with your very own watering can. This is a perfect project for toddlers and preschoolers, with an adult punching the holes while they decorate the cans. They love to do things like this!

What you will need:

one half gallon milk jug - you may want several as these are so much fun to make

one nail - adults only - keep out of reach of children

permanent markers or water proof paints - avoid getting on clothing - it doesn't come out

What you do:

1. Wash out the milk jug really well.

2. Decorate your milk jug with markers, paints or even stickers.

3. Punch several small holes in the front of the jug. (If you're not sure where the front is, hold the jug by the handle and pretend to pour water from it.)

4. Pour in some water. Water the plants, the ground, the rocks or anything else you can think of.
